Hair Transplantation

How is Hair Transplantation Performed?

Hair transplantation is now performed by many specialists. Hair loss takes its place among the most important complaints, especially as men get older. As everyone knows, hair transplantation is the process of placing hair on the hairless area with hair taken from the nape or chest areas.

What May Occur During Hair Transplantation?

Of course, good results are obtained after hair transplantation. However, despite these results, undesirable situations may occur in hair transplantation. So what are these situations?

It is normal to feel some pain during hair transplantation . The injection is made just before the application. Pain may be felt in the body due to local anesthesia. It is necessary to know that the process is applied using a needle.

It is also worth noting that. Even if you have a hair transplant , your hair will not look as dense as before. Although it is difficult for you to regain your congenital hair structure, hair is removed from the parts of your body and covered completely or an application is made to correct the most important part of your hair, which we call the front hair.

Care is taken to fill the first area where the image is reflected as often as possible. It is very difficult to close the gaps with a few sessions, although it is tried to be applied by diluting a little and to have a large number of hair. Even if there is a gap of 2 centimeters and you want your hair to regain its old appearance, it is necessary to repeat the process after a year.

What Should Be Considered While Applying Hair Transplantation?

You need to find the answers to questions such as where, by whom or by whom the hair transplant procedure should be performed, and what the application conditions should be, and you need to choose the most correct address. Although hair transplantation may seem like a simple application, it is an application where serious complications can occur.

One of these causes a serious process that has not been encountered so far, called anaphylactic shock, which can result in death when it occurs. In order to avoid this situation, in case of such an allergic reaction, it will be safer for your health to apply in an environment where the surgical team, equipment, anesthesiologist and anesthesia technician can be intervened immediately.

Hair transplantation is not a simple application. Although there are very high quality and very successful hair transplantation applications in today's conditions, it is necessary to apply hair transplantation procedures in surgical intervention sciences, in areas specially allocated for hair transplantation in order to avoid any complications .

The cleaning of hair transplant application rooms, the knowledge of the team, and the knowledge of the specialist who will perform the application are very important. It should be performed under the supervision of a plastic surgeon and by an experienced team.

Since hair transplantation is a process that can take 6 to 8 hours, there is a waiting period for grafts until the grooving phase and the team phase after receiving and removing the grafts. In this regard, it is necessary to keep the grafts in specially prepared areas by paying attention to the cold chain (icegraft) application in a special solution. The graft reveals a seriously healthy result in terms of life and duration.

What are Hair Transplantation Techniques and Methods?

Baldness is a timeless problem that affects both men and women. When faced with such a situation, hair transplantation is the most effective method.

There are two main hair transplant techniques, which is better? DHI and FUE! This transplant is a permanent solution to baldness.

The development of hair transplantation techniques now makes it possible to obtain a natural and undetectable result. However, the results obtained vary widely depending on the clinic, the practitioner and especially the technique chosen.

DHI and FUE techniques are the most famous and used. How to choose between the two? DHI and FUE Extraction to implantation Performing a FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) transplant session requires solid expertise on the part of the surgeon.

This method involves removing hair follicles one by one. 5000 follicle units are taken from the donor area in a single session. These follicles are then always transplanted one by one to the recipient area with low or zero hair density. The donor area is located at the back of the head. In these areas, the hair is not sensitive to androgens, the hormones responsible for androgenetic alopecia. The receptive area is usually at the crown and hairline.

DHI and FUE: What are the Consequences?

The results of hair transplantation appear gradually. After transplantation, the hair enters the telogen phase (resting phase of the hair) before it grows back a few weeks later. The results appear after 6 months and are finalized 12 months after the transplant. Imaging of the operation is natural and undetectable. Transplanted hair behaves like natural hair and grows back. Therefore, they can be cut and shaped according to the patient’s taste.

The follicular unit extraction technique used in FUE leaves no visible scars and allows the donor area to be reused for a possible next operation. It is also possible to remove hair from different parts of the body with FUE. The FUE technique is a better choice, especially for patients with a bald area to be covered, as FUE has an implantable graft limit of 5,000 follicles per session.

DHI is quite similar to FUE with a few differences. DHI is often presented as an evolution of FUE. The feature of the DHI method is the use of a special pen called DHI Implanter or CHOI Pen. This implantation pen provides better precision and good direction for the implanted follicle. Unlike the FUE method, the implants used for this technique are transferred directly to the recipient area. This technique leaves no traces. The DHI technique offers very good density, but the limit of this technique is the maximum number of grafts that can be transplanted in one session, which is only 2000. If shaving of the donor and recipient area is not strictly necessary in DHI, it is highly recommended as it guarantees better results.

This technique is a better choice, especially for patients with loss of density and no bald area to cover. For instance, this is the case for female pattern baldness.

DHI is generally more expensive than FUE. DHI and FUE Regarding the density of hair cover, FUE expects twice as much with 45 to 60 grafts per square centimeter, and DHI with 80 to 90 ampoules per square centimeter. Therefore, FUE is a better option for patients with bald areas, while DHI is recommended for patients who experience more extensive loss and want to regain volume. There is no better technique between DHI and FUE, FUE is better for covering bald areas and DHI is better for adding volume. The two techniques can be combined.
