The Stage of Embryo Transfer in IVF Treatment

Embryo transfer in IVF treatment is the final stage of the IVF process, during which the fertilized egg, left to grow for several days, is placed in the woman’s uterus, implanted it will become a fetus and result in the birth of a healthy child.

The embryo transfer process is done by loading the IVF embryo into a catheter and then passing it through the woman’s vagina and cervix and placing it in the uterus. Anesthesia is usually not needed for this procedure. But, valium can be used.

Types of Embryo Transfer

Although the basic principle remains the same, there are many types of embryo transfer.

These species are generally as follows:

* Fresh Embryo Transfer

As the name implies, a fresh embryo transfer is an unfrozen embryo transfer. In this process, multiple embryo transfers can also be performed.

* Frozen Embryo Transfer

Frozen embryo transfer is a process in which frozen embryos from a previous IVF or donor egg cycle are thawed and then transferred to the woman’s uterus.

• Second Embryo Transfer

In a traditional IVF procedure, it is common to produce 10-15 eggs through controlled hyperstimulation. In this process, a number of high-quality embryos are used that are suitable for transfer. Today’s standard practice is to transfer one or two embryos to the woman’s uterus and freeze all remaining embryos to increase the chances of future pregnancy.

• Single Embryo Transfer

Single embryo transfer is the practice of transferring only one embryo into a woman’s uterus. As a result of this process, it is highly preferred because it has a low low rate.

* Multiple Embryo Transfer

It is the process of transferring more than one embryo above its name. However, this operation must be carried out in accordance with certain standards.

• When Does Embryo Transfer Take Place?

The timeline for an embryo transfer is variable for each individual. Since embryo transfer is the last stage of an IVF cycle, the day on which it occurs is highly variable.

In order for embryo transfer to be successful in IVF treatment, it is very important that the procedure is performed 30-90 days before ovulation. In addition, there are studies that show the benefit of acupuncture treatment before and after embryo transfer during IVF treatment.

Finally, since embryo transfer is a very delicate process, it is very important that the patient and the doctor communicate constantly. Thus, a more successful embryo transfer can be carried out.
